In November 2011 Transport Scotland will award two 4th Generation (4G) Term Contracts. Under the conditions of the contracts, Transport Scotland is committed to providing the Operating Companies with an inventory of Trunk Road infrastructure items.

To ensure that the current inventory is comprehensive, accurate and up-to date, Transport Scotland are undertaking a review and/or update of the road inventory currently held.

IBI Group has been commissioned to carry out a comprehensive review and potential update of the asset inventory held within the SERIS RMMS module in 3 stages.

The stages are to include:

  • Video survey of entire Transport Scotland Trunk Road Network in both directions including Exit/Entry slip roads, Roundabouts and Ox Bow lay-bys.
  • Gap analysis and detailed report on the accuracy and completeness of the asset inventory based on a 5% random sample of current datasets
  • Update of Inventory held with SERIS

The total length of the survey is 6,205 Lane Km.
